About Hypnosis

What is it like to be hypnotised?
You've been into a hypnotic trance many times before. You may have been watching a film and found yourself so caught up in the story that two hours flew by before you realised it. You may have been daydreaming during a class. You may have imagined winning the lottery and wondered how you'd spend all that lovely money...

These are all examples of times we drift into a natural hypnotic trance, and hypnosis is the simply the process of deliberately entering that dreamy state with a purpose.

Can anybody be hypnotised?
Pretty much. It's harder to hypnotise someone if their IQ is under 60 or if they have severe brain damage or if they're blind and deaf, but even those people can often be guided into a hypnotic trance if the hypnotist is skilled enough and patient. For everyone else, it's usually very easy. Anyone who wants to be hypnotised can be hypnotised.

Remember: if somebody has told you in the past that you couldn't be hypnotised, what they really meant was that they couldn't hypnotise you. That's ok. I have hypnotised many people who had previously been told they were "resistant" or "difficult". Anybody can be guided into a hypnotic trance, and it's easy and pleasant for everyone.

Is it possible to get stuck in a trance?
No way! If you were engrossed in a film and the phone rang, you'd snap out of your trance and notice the phone. The same is true when you're hypnotised; as soon as something requires your conscious attention, you'll become alert again.

Will I be aware of what's going on?
Yes - you may feel very relaxed but you'll be awake and aware. You may feel dreamy.

Will you make me cluck like a chicken?
Only if you pay extra.
J

About Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

What is NLP?
NLP is a way of understanding human behaviour based on the idea that all behaviour has a structure, and all structures can be learnt, modelled, changed and taught. It was originally developed in the 1970s by Dr John Grinder and Dr Richard Bandler and it's now used by millions of people worldwide, including many therapists and coaches, as well as many salespeople, negotiators, politicians, speech writers and others. NLP has been used by NASA, the military, both sides of the US presidential campaign and many major corporations. It's a very effective way to understand - and influence - human behaviour.

Can NLP be used to help with physical symptoms?
Absolutely! My good friend Dr Ron Perry specialises in using the principles of NLP - and more - to affect people physically. I have had a lot of success working with people to overcome physical limitations, increase mobility and reduce pain. I have also had a lot of success helping people to clear up spots and psoriasis.

About the Mind Spa

What is the mind spa all about?
I sometimes use light and sound machines to help people relax really deeply. This is a really cool experience that most people really enjoy. The lights are of a specific brightness and they change at specific rates to help you feel very sleepy. The sounds come from different directions and they have a binaural rhythm to engage with different parts of your brain. I don't use these machines with many people and I will show you them and explain more about them if I think they'll be useful for you personally. If you're interested, ask me - they're a lot of fun!

About Energy

It all sounded so good until you mentioned energy work and healing. Isn't that a bit 'new age', weird and hippy-like?
I think most energy workers seriously over-complicate and mystify what they do. You can click here for a short audio clip of me explaining how I work with energy.

Can you do energy work at a distance?
In theory, yes. In practice, I much prefer to meet people face-to-face and combine the energy work I do with the other skills and techniques I use.

General Questions

How much do you charge?
I usually charge £250 per session (2hrs) but there are exceptions. Please give me a call so I can get a feel for what kind of session will work best for you and I can then give you a fair price. If the only thing stopping you from calling me is money, please call anyway - I will be happy to refer you to one of my friends or students who I highly recommend and who will work within your budget.

What if I need to cancel my session?
Please give me more than 24hrs notice so I can plan my time. I travel a lot and may be returning to London especially to see you. If you give me less than 24hrs notice, I will usually expect to be paid for the session anyway.

Please contact me if you have more questions.
